Training series “Making Magic in the Kingdom of Volunteering” for ESC project coordinators, other staff of ESC organisations, mentors (to be) of volunteers, facilitators involved in ESC & other volunteering projects and ex-volunteers
We start from the belief, proven by more than 8 years of field experience, that offering opportunities for organizations to build capacity concerning Volunteer Management Skills is essential for a quality implementation of international volunteering projects (focused e.g. on the European Solidarity Corps Programme - ESC).

Based on this - 3 long-term partner organizations - EJBW, Weimar, Politistiko Ergastiri Ayion Omoloyioton, Lefkosia (Youth Accreditation holders), and Pro Vobis, Cluj-Napoca - hereby propose to you a sequence of 5 trainings, under the title: "Making Magic in the Kingdom of Volunteering".

The proposed trainings are developed as a result of our common experience since 2015, from the era of European Voluntary Service (EVS) up to European Solidarity Program (ESC) and aim to achieve common ground and understanding on volunteer management issues, mentoring skills, professional development regarding youth workers key competences - based on the ETS Competence Model for Youth Workers, creating a community of practice and peer support among the implementers of European Volunteering projects. A special focus will be given to the role of mentors and competences for mentors.

We are inviting volunteering project coordinators, (support) staff of ESC hosting & sending organisations, mentors (to be) of volunteers, facilitators actively involved in ESC & other (international) volunteering projects and ex-volunteers to join one or more of the following training activities under the title “Making Magic in the Kingdom of Volunteering”:

Interested persons are invited to choose one or more of the above-listed trainings, according to role, need of staff development & interest.

Target group of the event: EX volunteers who are still involved or potentially involved in the field of youth work - we aim to gather the experience and perspectives of former volunteers as participants in volunteering projects and define issues, content, topics related to volunteer management, so that future projects may rely on lessons learned from practice, for improved quality implementation
Mentors Training (II): 12th - 18th of April 2024 in Weimar, GERMANY (DEADLINE 02.02.2024)

Target group of the event: participants who have had at least some experience in mentoring volunteers (at least 3 volunteers mentored)

During the training course, youth workers will explore methods and tools to educate young people about the impact of their choices and decisions as citizens on the society and demonstrate to them the importance of voting and active citizenship.
This training course is part of the KA2 project 'Let’s vote'. It includes 12 participants and 4 team members from 4 countries (Slovenia, France, Spain and Portugal).

During the training course, youth workers will explore methods and tools to educate young people about the impact of their choices and decisions as citizens on the society and demonstrate to them the importance of voting and active citizenship.

We will examine the reasons for low interest of young people for voting and the reasons for low voter participation amongst youth. We will also explore various ways to raise the interest of young people for voting and reflect on ways to minimise the obstacles faced by young people to go voting.

We will have a look at the educational material created during the first phase of the project, an educational board game called “The Choice”. We will learn how to play it and facilitate it in an educational setting.

We will also have a look at other tools to address the issues mentioned, such as Forum Theatre, games...

A complete Youth Training Course of Persuasion skills. It gives you the complete set of tools and methods useful to persuade, experience of it's implementation and understanding of its pros and cons. Free of charge. In Belarusian language.
A two-months expert level practical training course dedicated to the advanced knowledge, skills and attitude in a field of Persuasion skill of youth trainers, youth leaders, young journalists, young entrepreneurs and policy makers working in the field of non-formal learning and business education.

This is a hybrid TC: you can join the local group (classes take place in Warsaw, Poland each Tuesday starting from Jan 23, 2024 at 18-00 CET) or you can join the Online classes and listen to the course online

The route and a program might be adjusted in order to be more effective and brind better output for participants. We are flexible. And we are practicle.

The preliminary high-level training program plan is:

Introduction to Persuasion skills;
Persuasion in public speaking and 1-to-1 communication;
Basic Persuasion methods and techniques;
Common mistakes in Persuasion;
Coping with objections;
Persuasion vs. manipulation: how to stay on good side;
Strategies and architecture patterns of persuasive text;

The training activity aims to support and build up the capacities of organizations that actively participate in volunteering actions of the European Solidarity Corps, in order to ensure quality and impact in the respective projects.
Objectives and benefits of the training course

● Foster understanding, awareness and commitment to core quality criteria of the European Solidarity Corps
● Build up competences on how to design and implement European Solidarity Corps projects with a view to quality
● Ensure clarity and support on how the programme works formally: opportunities, guidelines, structures, priorities, rules, and procedures
● Give space to participants to express burning issues and needs and offer support where possible
● Foster a supportive community of organisations involved in the European Solidarity Corps
● Awaken the learner within

Part of the course is an obligatory online preparatory phase:

Before attending the residential training course in Slovakia, participants should complete an obligatory online preparatory or introductory phase. This phase is designed to provide basic information and establishing a common foundation. It also serves as a platform for you to begin forming a learning community and to conduct initial assessments of your own organisations, local communities, and personal needs. The preparatory phase requires 4-6 hours of commitment, and participants have the flexibility to allocate these hours across the days as they see fit. This phase will take place from January 22 to February 2, 2024, on the HOP Platform, including an online meeting scheduled for January 25 (16:00-17:30 CET). If you are selected and unable to attend the online meeting, please notify the organisers in advance.

We are looking for participants who:

● are involved in the Volunteering Actions in European Solidarity Corps Programme
● are connected to organisations/institutions holding a Quality Label for Volunteering (or an accreditation for Volunteering in Erasmus+).
● have a crucial role in and commitment to
● providing conditions for high quality activities
● ensuring a positive impact of Volunteering Activities within their community
● creating learning opportunities within the organisation and for volunteers

Team:
The concept of the TOSCA is based on the experience of the network of National Agencies and established by a pool of trainers with the support of Resource Centres. The names of the trainers will be provided by SALTO ESC.

This project is for 20 youth workers, youth leaders and activists interested in improving their interpersonal skills
Summary of the project

What if we explore ways of communicating with others that unlock defences? Our emotions are key to understanding what we need and help us determine our positions and strategies to get them fulfilled. Understanding is a beautiful and necessary step before expressing yourself. All these ideas in the framework of building interpersonal relations from the non-violence we will explore in the beautiful town of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Madrid.

Aim: to equip 20 youth workers, youth leaders and activists with competencies in conflict transformation at the interpersonal level and emotional literacy skills to establish cooperation relationships in the professional and personal environments.

Objectives:

To gain a better understanding of the concepts of Peace, diverse forms of violence, conflict, non-violence and community with the approach to serve as a conceptual framework for interpersonal relations.
To understand the importance of nonviolent conflict transformation, the variety of strategies to approach conflict and its links to the context of human rights.
To empower participants to participate and build healthy and peaceful relations at their professional and local level
To develop skills in emotional literacy, non-violent communication and active listening
To map and analyse the realities of the participants on how interpersonal conflict and violence affect their wellbeing
To facilitate the process of designing at least 6 follow-up activities aiming to transform local conflicts by using the conclusions and techniques acquired during the training
To create a recommendations document including the framework of competencies for youth leaders to build sustainable relations based on non-violence

Training for Youth Workers to Support their Practices with Young People
This three-day training event hosted by Youth Work Ireland in partnership with the Irish National Agency Léargas will provide a space for youth practitioners to explore the necessary tools, skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to create a safe environment to have conversations with young people around sexual health, sexual identity and positive relationships. Using a range of methodologies, this event will build participant’s capacity, confidence, and ability to address these topics with young people in their organisations.

Objectives:

Build youth workers confident and competencies to discuss concepts of sexual health, consent, and positive relationships with young people.
Support youth worker’s understanding of concepts of gender and sexual identity and the impact of power and control in relationships.

Aim of the project:

The aim of this training is to equip youth workers and youth leaders with intercultural and communication skills in order to facilitate safe, democratic and inclusive spaces for their volunteers and target groups.

The objectives of the projects are:

to train youth workers and youth leaders to facilitate intercultural and democratic processes and activities within their organizations
to bring awareness on the meaning and the importance of intercultural dialogue as a fundamental tool to mitigate diverse group dynamics
to exchange on best practices within youth workers/youth leaders organizations
to strengthen the cooperation started within the PBA
The desired impacts on the training participants are:

The topic of the training course is 'Non-competitive activities for inclusion'. We will have a look at 4 activities that are non-competitive: Circus, Dance, Cooperative Games and Outdoor Activities.
This training course for youth workers is part of the KA2 project 'Non-Competitive activities for inclusion' (https://noncompetitiveactivities.wordpress.com/). It is hosted by Association CIK/Cirkus La Bulle (SLO) in Brežice Slovenia, from the 22.01 to the 29.01.2024. It includes 12 participants and 5 team members from 4 countries (Slovenia, France, Spain and Croatia).

During the 8-day (including travel) learning, teaching and training activity, we will have a look at 4 activities that are non-competitive: Circus, Dance, Cooperative Games and Outdoor Activities. We will examine their potential for education and inclusion of young people and learn basic techniques to use those activities with youth.

The objectives of the project are:

To share good practices in order to increase awareness about non-competitive activities as a tool of youth work
To develop activities that are accessible to youngsters with fewer opportunities (youth workers learn new methods, learn how they foster the inclusion of youngsters with fewer opportunities and learn how to use them to develop personal and social skills of young people)
To promote and disseminate the use of non-competitive activities that are attractive and inclusive of all.
At the end of the training course, all the participants will be equipped with knowledge how to prepare and implement basic non-competitive activities for youth.

Participants will contribute to the creation of a pedagogical manual.
