Community Management Coordinator in Guatemala - Humanitarian Volunteer

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
TECHO Guatemala works with 24 communities around the country, in its 3 regional headquarters in the Central, West and North zone, covering several departments of the country. It implements the institution's work model in each community and develops housing programmes and community infrastructure projects in cooperation with the neighbours of the communities themselves. The volunteer is the main responsible for the correct execution of the Community Work Model, follow-up of the expansion and coverage strategy, information gathering, accompaniment of community infrastructure projects. Therefore the details functions are: To guarantee the implementation of the model of work in the territory / To collect information / To lead the strategy of work in communities / To lead the strategy of Expansion and Coverage to reach more territories in each of the offices.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Working conditions: Hybrid work (3 days in office - 2 days teleworking) / Flexible working hours / Constant visits to community / Institutional mail tool and library drive. Living conditions: Accommodation /Transport to community visits and visits to regional headquarters. The volunteer will receive a monthly per diems of 791 € to cover their food and other expenses.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
Volunteers will improve their professional knowledge through training in humanitarian action, and specific issues on security, gender, psychosocial support... and will be provided with training resources to continue their learning. Those selected will receive briefings/training at MdM headquarters in Madrid with the different departments related to the mission and the position, as well as mandatory online training on environmental issues before they start their field work. Training sessions will take place both in the countries of the supporting organisations and in of the host organisations.

ESC volunteering at VIN Day Centre

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Vin is a day center for people with mental health issues located in Reykjavik and operated by the Municipality of Reykjavík. Its aim is to socially integrate otherwise isolated people struggling with mental illness, to help them change their routines and add something extra to their lives, thus strengthening their physiological, physical and sociological well-being and improving their quality of life. Furthermore, the aim is to help the guests to improve/develop various skills through participation in daily activities. As a volunteer one of your main tasks will be to spend time with the guests, getting to know them, chatting, and engaging them in different activities. Cooking (about two hours preparation),Organizing and participating in the activities of the day, etc.You will be asked to join the staff in some extra activities, like going for a walk or visiting a museum (occasionally). In this project the volunteer's ideas, skills, and initiatives will be welcomed.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
The volunteer will live in our volunteer house in the centre of Reykjavik together with 6-7 other international volunteers all working at different projects. The volunteers each have their own private bedroom, then share a kitchen, bathrooms and living room. Specialist in video editing in Chile - Humanitarian Volunteer

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Over the past 25 years, TECHO has been a leader in the social development movement in Latin America, mobilising thousands of people and creating significant change in the communities most in need. Volunteer main responsibility is the creation of videos that tell people's stories and TECHO's impact on their lives in the 18 countries. You will also have to manage the Youtube account to map powerful takes and images to complement video edits and will have the possibility to accompany work on the ground to collect stories and subsequently edit them for content creation. You will also be in contact with international teams to request materials and will report to the Marketing and Communications Directorate of TECHO International and will be part of a team. The team is 100% remote, working from Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
The office shares space with TECHO in Chile and has access to a nice park to share outdoors with animals. Youthful atmosphere and opportunity to actively participate in the volunteer team as well as to participate in construction during the period of stay in Chile. The volunteer will receive a monthly per diems of 565,50 € to cover their food and other expenses.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Compagnons Bâtisseurs is a French NGO founded in 1957 in order to help people from the working class build their own homes. Since then, we have been working with people with low-income to help them improve their own living conditions through renovation work and workshops. Volunteers participate daily in the renovation work, under the supervision of a technical instructor. They also play an active role in organizing and implementing workshops related to housing for the community. Volunteers are also encouraged to take initiatives in local projects. !! ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Volunteers live in a shared flat with other volunteers or in a residence for students or volunteers. The transport to France is paid by the program. The local association pays for the local transport. Each month, the volunteer receive 468 euros for food and personal expenses.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
Volunteers are also fully involved in the organisation life, especially through their participation in the national and local Executive committees, General Assemblies and through the national volunteers’ group, which regroups all volunteers. During the summer, the volunteers can work as pedagogical co-leaders or facilitator on international workcamps organised by Compagnons Bâtisseurs.

Midwife / Nurse in Sierra Leone (Kabala) - Humanitarian Volunteer

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
MdM started working in Sierra Leone in 2002 (in Koinadugu since 2006). Since then, more than 30 projects have been developed with the financial support of over 10million€ from various donors. Main tasks: To contribute to supervising the different Primary Healthcare Units in the district in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Infection, prevention, control aspects. To design & develop trainings to health workers from public health structures, community health workers & traditional birth attendants according to the needs. To collaborate in the identification of needs of equipment in the public health centre. To work closely with MdM Health Adviser, identify aspects for capacity building and to support with his/her capacity strengthening. To support with the supervision of a pilot project, which includes portable ultrasound. To observe the Maternal & Child health services, provided in the Kabala Gov. Hospital, including the Maternity Ward and identify aspects for improvement…
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Koinadugu is a rural context and the living conditions in Kabala are the usual ones in this kind of environment. Basic services are not easily accessible (water is provided from a well, electricity is available through the use of generators or solar systems). The speed of internet is limited, but the connection is stable. The volunteer will regularly receive information, guidance, support, & materials and transportation necessary for performing the functions assigned to them. You will receive a monthly subsistence allowance of 487€ to cover basic needs and local transport.

Communication Officer in Senegal -Humanitarian Volunteer

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
MdM has been developing and implementing health programmes in Dakar since 2003. The volunteer will be in charge of implementing MdM Senegal's communication action plans, in particular the implementation of communication activities (awareness-raising, events...), the application of the communication plan, the management of social networks, the monitoring of and the production of tools and actions (leaflets, posters, videos, press articles, web articles, events, surveys), as well as relations with partners & medias. The themes will concern in particular gender, gender-based violence and reproductive health. She/he will supervise the implementation of the communication, visibility and social mobilisation strategy of the projects in accordance with the donors' guidelines. He/she will maintain links with project partners & civil society organisations, artists, media… Work in collaboration with other technical departments and ensure capacity building of teams in communication.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
The work will take place at the MdM office in the capital Dakar. The volunteer will then be accommodated in the organisation's guesthouse. There will be a 24/h receptionist for emergencies and any necessary movements to ensure the volunteer's wellbeing. Dakar is a quiet city with several beaches & a rich cultural life to relax in. The general atmosphere in Dakar is good. However, it is recommended to be careful when travelling, especially at night, and to avoid certain places outside the city centre. The volunteer will receive a monthly per diem of 568€ to cover their food and other expenses.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
Volunteers will improve their professional knowledge through training in humanitarian action, and specific issues on security, gender, psychosocial support... and will be provided with training resources to continue their learning. Good command of computer tools and Office Pack. Work in a multicultural team. Knowledge of and interest in the themes dealt with: sexual and reproductive health, gender, GBV./ LANGUAGES: French is essential. Spanish, English would be an asset.

Presentation of the hosting organization: “Have a Dream” is a social organization launched in 2014 by a group of young Egyptians inspired by the rich experiences they had during their travels and dreaming of giving young people around the world the chance to come out of their comfort zone and also be introduced to different cultures. They organize cultural opportunities, volunteering and trainings to give young people the chance to travel and volunteer, share experiences with others and learn new skills to help young people improve and rediscover themselves.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Accommodation: You'll share the apartment with other volunteers. Everyone will have their own room with shared kitchen, bathroom and living room. It will either be next to our office or 15 minutes maximum by bus/metro. Electricity, Wi-Fi, water and gas will be covered by the host organization. Food and transport: You will receive €100 per month which covers the price of transport and food, Pocket money: You will receive €90 in pocket money monthly for you. Travel costs: they will be refunded
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

- Vous bénéficierez d’une chambre privée meublée. • Participation à la gestion des réseaux sociaux du camp Hedigda et du bureau Torraha. • Dispense de cours d’anglais à un groupe de 5 à 6 jeunes de la communauté locale travaillant au restaurant d’Ola, en présence d’un animateur parlant arabe. Vous apprendrez ainsi l’arabe en interagissant avec lui et avec les jeunes. Ces cours auront lieu deux à trois heures par semaine • Contribuer à préparer le Camp Hedigda en tant que lieu culturel et artistique, en organisant des activités pour attirer les amateurs de voyages artistiques et culturels.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
The program offers permaculture education, practical ecological farm work, multicultural volunteer community experience, all with a focus on learning by doing. You will share this experience in a group of 6 volunteers from different countries, included from Spain. Our small farm of 6000m2 is located in the northwest of the island of La Palma, Canary Island. This 9 months experience is perfect for a solid introduction to the principles of permaculture design, the practice of regenerative agriculture, and to the work and life in an ecological farm. We work 7 hours daily ranging from routine farm work (garden, forest, animals, infrastructure maintenance), individual and group project development, workshops, and community work in other farms. ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Volunteers are hosted in our farm, in shared bedrooms. Most of the year, external facilities are used (solar shower, compost toilet). Internet connection is available around the library/common space. Comfort is basic as we mostly live outside during the year. In winter, rain is frequent and temperature can go down to 3 degrees celsius by night (it can be cold inside too because of humidity). Up to 45 degrees in summer. Food is covered partially by farm produces and our own warehouse. Meals are cooked and shared among volunteers. Currently there are 2 families living permanently on the farm.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
The aim of our project is to train you so that you can become a social and environmental changemaker, improve your awareness of the natural environment, become proactive actor of your personal and professional life, and to become leader in your community. We focus on learning by doing, where mistakes are part of the process. Our goal is that you enhance your confidence and autonomy in conducting ecological farm tasks. Volunteers are trained through workshops (permaculture design, composting, microorganisms development, etc.) offered by the coordinator as well as by fellow volunteers.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
To be passionate about the environment, farming, and permaculture; To be willing to learn rural and manual skills and to enjoy doing physical hard work; To be ready to spend 9 months living and working on a farm with basic comfort with cold rainy weather in winter and dry and hot in summer; To be interested in permaculture design theory; Open-minded and predisposition to learning; ready to participate in maintenance activities such as cooking and cleaning; Commitment to learn basic spanish before arrival. Preference will be given to candidates with fewer opportunities.
